Transporting your Omeo

The Omeo is as compact as many standard wheelchairs, and is one of the lighter power chairs on the market at 76kg. It can be transported in a number of ways - from in the boot of a car via a hoist or ramps, in a WAV of course, or via public transport on buses or trains.

Transport

Via Hoist

While we can't recommend any specific companies, a number of Omeo customers have used Autochair to fit their hoists into their car boots.

Transport

Via Ramps

We can't recommend or give advice on which ramps will work best for you. However there are a number of ramp companies in the UK that offer ramps in different formats and at various price points that can be found online.

Transport

Via WAV

Riding an Omeo into a WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) is very easy and it has tie down points to secure it in position. You can also use additional plastic chocs (commonly used with caravans) to brake the wheels.

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot remain seated in the Omeo while travelling or drive from the Omeo. It is NOT crash tested.

Transport

Via Public Transport

The Omeo can travel up the ramps to access buses or trains and fits neatly into the allocated wheelchair spaces. We recommend positioning the Omeo side on to the direction of travel to reduce any chance of movement.
